HEDIS/ACO quality reporting, and data analytics, allowing payers and providers to dramatically
reduce costs and improve quality of care.

Position Purpose:
The Imaging Specialist is responsible for medical record verifications and assigning to our Coding
Department timely. Responsible for all auditing steps including researching, renaming, and
escalating activities. Responsible for prepping, scanning, and indexing all medical records that are
received through Field, Mail, Fax, Secure Email, and SFTP.

Responsibilities
• Quality Assurance:
• Performing quality assurance and assessment of medical charts to maintain validity of
records at various stages of the QA Process.
• Indexes each medical record document which includes, but is not limited to:
• QA Level 1 audits and verifications
• Ensure all documents w/in a chart belong to the correct patient/account
• Verify all images are correct and legible
• Ensure patient identifiers are present throughout each record
• Remove all duplicate or extraneous documents
• Organize pages according to company procedures and policies
• Responsible for prepping, scanning, and indexing all medical records that are received
• Good technical skills to decipher best retrieval methods and improve accuracy
• Monitors imaging system daily for scanning errors and/or requests
• Alternate usage of multiple devices or monitors; at times simultaneously in order to maintain
workload

Basic Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of data entry experience
• Good understanding of medical terminology
• Entry level understanding of healthcare administration
• Basic understanding of HIPAA and PHI
• Good navigational knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Standard and Salesforce
• Comfortable working multiple devices and monitors simultaneously
• Basic understanding of project management methodologies and key terms
• Must have excellent time management skills, be highly organized, and self-motivated
• Maintain a high level of productivity and confidentiality
• Excellent customer service, problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of computer-based systems such as Excel, Word, and the Internet with the
ability to quickly learn new systems
• Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• HS Diploma/GED required; preferred AA or higher degree or equivalent job-related experience
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification a plus

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and lift.
The employee must lift, carry and/or move up Scanner and Laptops, weighing up to 30 pounds. The
Employee must have the ability to engage in repetitive motions such as copying and scanning
medical records. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. Requires prolonged
sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching, requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires
normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
