Episource, with over 3000 employees worldwide, is a leading provider of risk adjustment services and solutions for health plans.  Our services help Medicare Advantage, Commercial/Exchange, and Medicaid managed care plans improve and support accurate reimbursement in a post-Affordable Care Act market. Our services include retrospective chart reviews, medical record retrieval, HEDIS/ACO quality reporting, and data analytics, allowing payers and providers to dramatically reduce costs and improve quality of care.

Overview:

The Senior Accountant performs general accounting work and analysis that is varied. They will prepare income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and along with other accounting statements and reports. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the analysis of financial reports and records, makes studies or recommendations relative to accounting reserves and assets. They will review and verify the accuracy of journal vouchers, accounting methods and procedures and any special projects, as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly financial reporting and coordinate month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures including:
    • General Journal entries
    • General Ledger Account Reconciliations
    • Intercompany invoices
    • Fixed Asset management including additions, disposals, and depreciation
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies, reconciliation of inter-company transactions and all Balance Sheet Accounts.
  • Coordinate with Accounting team in India.
  • Summarize the operating insights into what is driving the financial results. Explain variances from budget / forecast.  Monitor performance to key financial and operating goals.
  • Interface with management in various departments, providing information and various analyses on a daily or periodic basis.
  • Support special projects or financial analysis when needed by management.
  • Support initiatives for process improvements such as cost accounting, expense analysis and margin analysis or other opportunities.
  • Monitor activities of the Accounting Clerk.
  • Should be able to work after office hours as required to coordinate with our India team.

Skills & Competencies :

  • Possesses and applies knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Good attention to detail with good analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced PC skills, including strong Excel and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple activities successfully.
  • Previous experience with data analysis skills preferred.
  • Ability to partner and influence
  • Professional experience that includes presenting a compelling point of view directly to executives

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience or Master’s Degree in Accounting / Finance.
  • Quickbooks, Oracle, MAS200, MS Navision and/or Hyperion experience desired
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with in the healthcare industry a plus.

Salary commensurate with experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching, requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
